Description

Fall of Humanity: Then and Now Worksheet Course: CWV - 101 PART ONE: THE FALL - THEN Read the assigned readings in Topic 3 (textbook Chapter 4, Topic 3 Overview, "The Mystery of Original Sin" article, and Bible passages) and address the following questions with a total word count (including all questions and answers combined) of 500-900 words. Cite all of the resources used with in-text citations, using at least two sources from the Topic 3 readings. Include these in the reference list at the end of the assignment. Write your paragraph response directly below each question: 1. What is revealed about human nature (from Genesis 1-2)? Human nature is different from other creatures as we human can think and feel and can made informed decisions. Genesis 1 and 2 provides information and details that human being is superior to other animals due to its ability to reason and comprehend things. It provides information that it is a gift of God. This gift helps us to understand nature and God himself and appreciate his creation. It also says that God created humans in his own image. He provides some of his attributes to human as they are special. People love because they are made in the image of god who is love (1John 4:16). 2. What are the consequences of the fall for human nature (from Genesis 3)? The Generis reflects how sin is brought into this world. Satan came in form of serpent and managed to convince Eve to eat the forbidden fruits. Eve gave the fruits to Adam and he consumed that too without reasoning. They did this even while God explicitly asking them not to eat the tree of knowledge. Both Adam and Eve did this with full sense and in defiance of God and committed a Sin. This marks the beginning of fall of humanity. The consequence of this is death, pain and sufferings are now part of the world. This acts are also considered to be first when human being had enmity with the Lord. As Eve has blamed the serpent for the deed, human being also starts to blame others for their actions. Human being now starts to reason and began following curiosity and invent new things. In some sense it has also been helpful in the progress of human to what we are today but on the other hand, it increased suffering and pain (ex: more pain in childbirth) etc. 3. What is revealed about human purpose from the readings? What does it mean for humans to flourish, in other words to achieve spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being? © 2017. God created human in his own image, and purpose of human is to fulfill and protect the garden, work and live a purposeful life and appreciate what God has given us. In order to flourish and lead a happy life, we need to understand the relationship with Him and serve His purpose and be one with Him, making Him the center of our life and accept Him in all that He is. Once we have God at the center of everything and knowing that everything happen with God’s will and has a purpose, human can achieve spiritual, emotional and mental wellbeing. 4. How might these questions about human nature, purpose, and flourishing be answered by those holding a pantheistic or atheistic (choose one) worldview? The fall of humanity raised many questions about human nature, its purpose and flourishing by reasoning and inventing new things but it also developed greed and temptation. According to theist worldview, this is completely against God as according to Christian belief, humans are supposed to follow in the footsteps of God and be spiritual in their approach. The pantheism belief system is based on spirituality and they think all material things are real and is governed by the spirit. As they have spiritual dimension in their belief system, it may not support the action of Adam and Eve which are based on curiosity and temptation. I think one of the view that could support this is the belief system which favors individual preferences and I think this is the one Adam and Eve practiced it based on the situation. 2

Choose one act of dehumanization and write the script for a short TV public service announcement in 350-650 words. Use at least two different sources from the GCU Library cited in the text and listed below in the list of references. Include the following: 

Highlight how the act of dehumanization is evident in the world today.

Provide solid ideas for prevention.

Include statistics, causes, and impact on people (victim, perpetrator, others as appropriate).

Discuss how a God-centered worldview contributes to a solution.

Include notes within the script about the images and video that would be included when shooting the commercial.

From the topic materials, view the two examples of a public service announcement: 1. Child Internet Safety PSA - Online Predators 2. Dangers of Sexting: What Teens Need to Know Write your paper below: Part two- the fall now Internet pornography is vastly widespread and has worldwide impact. Given the fast and instant communication system that we have today, spread of such information is rampant and so is the misuse. This results in increased dehumanization acts that in inflicted upon children and women. Children are filmed for pornography and given the widespread distribution mechanism and fast communication; it is a very critical issue. This has resulted in assaults, molestation and rape of child. This dehumanizing act is completely unacceptable, and measures should be taken to fix this. Deepfake pornography accounts for a significant majority (96%) of deepfake videos online, even as other forms of non-pornographic deepfakes have gained popularity. (Deeptrace, 2019). 1 in every 4 girls and 1 in every 6 boys were possibly victimized as reported from national center for missing and exploited children. This statistics reveals that there is a widescale harassment of children and objectification of women. Mobile porn is expected to reach $2.8 billion by 2015. [21] Juniper Research, “Videochat and subscription services to drive mobile adult revenues to $2.8bn by 2015, Juniper Report finds,” Oct. 14, 2010. http://www.juniperresearch.com/viewpressrelease.php?pr=210 (accessed December 27, 2012). With such easy reach, it affects the attitude and perception of children and adults and crime rates involving sexual violence has gone up drastically. At desperate time like this it is very important for people to keep a view which follows in God’s footsteps and ensure that kindness and compassion prevails. The God centric worldview presents a belief system that we human are created in the image of God and we should follow Him and obey his command. This helps in reducing selfish acts and promote care and calmness in an individual. This should also make people more sensible and help prevent such violence and horrifying acts. God centric view promotes equality and moral values that are eroding rapidly in our society and when human being starts to put God first and follow his direction, it would bring peace and calmness and would greatly help in creating a safe atmosphere. Hence it is requested from every institution and 3

family to familiarize children and young people with God centric worldview to help eliminate the spread of internet pornography. Notes: visual images and videos must show how people involved in pornography suffers and are misdirected in their life and live a non-fruitful life.
