List the three Christian views of creation, as given in the lecture, and a brief description of each.  Young Earth: God created the world in 6 days and the earth is around 6,000- 10,000 years old.  Old Earth: Things happened in scientific stages as God gave the command.  Theistic Evolution: life happened in an evolutionary way by a process God put into motion.

2. The concept that humanity is created in the image of God may refer to a number of things. List four things: two covered in the textbook and two covered in the lecture. • Created to know and worship God. • Created to have dominion. • Created in his image to be like him: we love, we want justice, etc. • Created to have free will. 3. What are the similarities between the scenes in Revelation 21:1-4 and the garden of Eden in Genesis 2? Revelation 21:3 and Genesis 2, God talks about being in direct communication with people. In the garden, he talked directly with Adam and Eve. Also, in Revelation 21:2 and in Genesis 2: 24-25, God creates Adam's wife and he uses the metaphor of the church as the bride of Christ. 4. According to the lecture, what is meant when we say God is sovereign? Sovereign means that God has supreme authority over his creation

5. List at least five characteristics of God emphasized in Psalm 145. • God is praise worthy • God is great. • He is glorious • He is good • He is gracious • He is merciful 6. List three reasons for seeing humanity as the pinnacle of God’s creation. • We were made in his image. • We have souls. • When God created man, he said it was very good instead of just good.

7. How does the textbook describe the Garden of Eden? Textbook describes the Garden of Eden as God's dwelling place with man. It also seems to be described as an analogy for a new heaven and a new earth that is described to us in the end of the bible.

8. How would you describe the nature of work God gave to Adam in the garden of Eden? God gave Adam the work of being a steward over the garden. He was to care for the animals and plants. The lecture notes list Adam as being the first biologist, naming all the faunae and florae.

9. Summarize Proverbs 9:10. By knowing and fearing God, you will have insight and wisdom. 10. Summarize God’s statements in Genesis 2:16-18. In v. 16-17, God is commanding Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because if he does, God warns him that he will die. V. 18, God sees that it is not good for Adam to be by himself, so he decides to make a helper for him.

11. What does the textbook say about the involvement of the Trinity in creation? In Genesis 1:2, and in 1:26 the verses is phrased in a way that although the Holy Spirit is not named, we understand that the Holy Spirit was there.

12. List the four basic “acts” of the overarching biblical story. • Creation • Fall • Redemption • Restoration 2
