Discussion 1-1 Humanities Getting Started Hello, I am Nicole. Some people call me Nikki. I am attending Southern New Hampshire University to obtain my bachelors degree in creative writing. I just recently moved to Tennessee from Flint Michigan. I am looking forward to this course because last term I learned about so many interesting works of art in Humanities part one. I found that the research put into studying works of art could come in handy in my career path. If I were to write a story that took place in the middle ages, Humanities has given me the practice and knowledge to incorporate works of art into my stories. After reviewing the course outcomes I cannot wait to dive into Western art and culture. Learning about different forms of art and cultures has always been interesting to me. In my last Humanities class in the beginning I had a hard time analyzing works of art, but at the end of the term I like to think that my skill of analyzing and communicating with my peers has grown. I cannot wait to test it out and see how far I have come. After reviewing the syllabus, MBS Direct and the discussion board appears to be the main resources needed to be successful in this class and to complete assignments. I have founf that my instructor and classmates can help me with this course through blackboard within the discussion posts and the general questions thread. I am very excited to get started and get to know everyone through this class for the next eight weeks! -Nikki

2 Peers Hello Heather! It is nice to meet you. You sound like you have your hands full with your boys and work. It is admirable to see you in school with your hands full. I agree that you can help your classmates with your input. A different perspective and positive but constructive feedback is always nice to have. I look forward to seeing your future discussion posts and working with you in this class. Have a nice first day back to class! -Nikki

Hello, Cecilia! I just have to say, that is awesome that you are named after a song. I love Simon and Garfunkel. I see a lot of young mothers who attend this school and I think it is awesome that SNHU can provide that option for people all over the world to get an education while still being available for their family. Kudos to you!  From your post it sounds that you will have no difficulty with this class from your personal experience and your interests. I look forward to seeing, and reading the topics and subjects that you find most interesting in this class. That is very cool that you have been to Europe, and seen the Mona Lisa in person, not many people can say that they have done that! It was nice reading about you, -Nikki...
