1-1 Discussion: Getting Started 1. Provide a short introduction of yourself to your peers and instructor. What personal or professional experiences have you encountered that are related to the general topics of this course?  Hi, my name is Lise. I live with my boyfriend and my two children, Wesley, who is 10, and Josie, who is 9. I am the baby of 12 children. I have over 100 nieces and nephews. In my free time, I like to go for long speed walks, hiking, biking, and spending time with my children and very large family. My hobby is knitting. It is relaxing for me. I knit all sizes of blankets. I make them for friends, family, and homeless shelters. I enjoy seeing the smiles on those whom I give them to. I began my journey at SNHU in January 2015. At the end of October, I will have completed a Bachelor’s in Accounting. I am very excited. I absolutely love learning. Starting in November I will start my next journey toward a Master’s in Accounting. I also am planning to intern at an accounting firm while working on the Master’s. 2. After reviewing the course outcomes, what do these outcomes mean to you? How are these outcomes relevant to your own personal/professional experiences and interests?  After reviewing the course outcomes, I feel that all the courses I have taken this far have led up to this one. I feel a little anxious because I have learned so much about accounting, management, and business over the last five years. Even though I do feel a little anxious, I think I will do well in this course. The outcomes will also help me for when I intern. 3. After reviewing the course syllabus and the assignment guidelines for your Module One activities, what resources will you need to be successful in this course? How can your instructor and fellow classmates help you reach the outcomes of the course?  The resources I will use to be successful in this course would be communicating with my professor, my classmates, utilizing the text and web and brushing up on what I have learned in past courses....
