Guerdina Lucien ENC1101 Junk foods are not new to our society, I can honestly say everyone in America even vegetarian or people who are really trying to eat and to live a healthy lifestyle have eaten junk food at some moment or place, in my opinion I really think people eat those kind of somme for the price’ they are affordable food, for the ease’ they can be find everywhere at any time and in any circumstances, and also for the tradition’ some people have been eating junk since they where little they grow up eating like that, their parents did not show them any better and they are conformed with it. Junk foods are food that has low nutritional value, typically produced in the form of packaged snacks needing little or no preparation, Junk food is a pejorative term for food containing a large number of calories from sugar or fat with little fiber, protein, vitamins or minerals. The term can also refer to high protein food like meat prepared with saturated fat Junk food companies really try their to attract customers by improving the way te products taste more often not in the interest of the consumers but the true reason behind it to gain more money and full their pocket. Some reseachs have shown that most of the ingredients are not helping in any way, the following ingredient are not good to be consumed in a regular basics : salt, sugar, saturated fat, the studies found that most ingredients are connected to heart diseases if over-consumed, they also have a big role in the obesity of today’s America.The producers even work in the noise some foods makes including ( potato chip) they always want it to have a amazing textural allure, they work with our food processing it and over-processing it . I have really started to think that the junk food industry is really working with our brains to make us purchase their non beneficial products, what I mean with that is that their scientist create a effect called “ vanishing caloric density “ to make some food melt in our mouth and give us pleasure with the intention of us thinking that the food is not going to harm us although it is a obvious lie. Despite the strides by

some fast food eateries to offer a healthier menu, many fast foods are still cooked with a large amount of oil and butter. In general, fast food restaurants are not inclined to include fruits and vegetables in their menus.People with heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes must use caution when eating fast food because it tends to be high in fat, sugar and sodium. It is always better to prepare homemade food and include ingredient with good nutritional value like vegetables and fruits, I personally good my own food , I trained my conscience to feel guilty when I do fall for a fast food meal and that have helped me a lot to stay away from them, I would advise someone that does not know how to cook to learn the basics by watching videos on the television or youtube , that will surely improve their lifestyle....
