Effectiveness of Technology in K-12 Classroom

Summary: In this article, several topics are covered regarding education and technology in the classrooms. There is more information that one person can ever acquire at their fingertips thanks to technology and the internet (Delgado, 2015). More and more students are able to access this vast variety of technology that is available to everyone everyday. Students now have options of Bring your own device (BYOD) to schools. They have options of taking classes face-to-face with a teacher, blended, or even all online, which means that they never get to meet the teacher.Every environment varies in the extent of time spent learning in the classroom to the time spent learning on the web. This assortment of classroom configurations permits understudies to take courses that are not accessible at their school. Some web learning courses have addressed the requirements of particular gatherings of understudies. These organizations further offer understudies the alternative of taking progressed or school level courses. In conclusion, in some cases, schools have allowed understudies who fizzled a course to retake it by means of online for credit. With all these technological advances students now have all the information they need at their fingertips.Instructors have utilized innovation to educate since the 1920s, when film and radios were presented into classrooms, however it wasn’t until the late 1980s and 1990s that school reforms began utilizing computers to assist in teaching students and to individualize learning (Delgado,2015). There have been studies done to see how well the teachers incorporate technology in their classrooms and see if it really is an effective method of teaching. The only problem with this study was that a lot of student did not have access to these digital devices at all times. Meaning that teachers cannot really change their methods of teaching with only a few students with access to digital devices, that will make some of the students stay behind since others are learning at a faster pace than the others. As we enter the digital age, equipping

Effectiveness of Technology in K-12 Classroom students with technology is crucial(Delgado,2015).As noted, instructors and directors must pick the best ways to deal with direction advancement into instructive modules and course. One system is for schools and/or locales to purchase the gear, programming, assurance and establishment all through their classrooms for their understudies. Influence to this system is that there are often incurred significant injury hold stores when purchases are bundled. Besides, such a system consistently achieves understudies and instructors working with the same mechanized contraptions, which addresses stresses of parity, security, and access. The only problem with this is that a lot of schools do not have the money necessary to bring in devices for all the students in the school to have their own.

Opinion: As a student in the 21st century, I love that everyday we have new technology and ways to learn. Like it was mentioned in the article, there are so many new ways that you can take classes, now its not the only the traditional way of face-to-face with the teacher. You have the blended, or the fully online classes. For me preferably I would like the blended, that is because you get to see a teacher but you also get to experience what it is to work online. For example, my EDF class is a blended course, meaning we only meet on Tuesday and the rest of the week we get to work online and turn in assignments through a program called Blackboard. I honestly love working with technology, but at the same time it’s a problem because there is so much information online that sometimes you do not know what to even believe. Like I mentioned above, this article explained to us the difficulties that schools are having now with the devices. I think that they should have funds just for digital devices like laptops or computers for each child in upper grade levels. It will help the students with the learning process, and well try and not give them too

Effectiveness of Technology in K-12 Classroom much homework online since not every student has access to a device at home. There are also high risks with the technology advancing. Schools should make sure that they can monitor what the students are watching or doing once they are on the school network. The world is evolving so fast that as a future teacher I am scared of what can happen with teaching in a couple years. We are all questioning if we will even have whiteboards where we can teach our students basic math, or if actual hard cover textbooks will even exist by the time I become a teacher. I would love to be able to incorporate technology in my learning styles and process but I will also like to have a physical math book, or a physical book to a subject where it is a little hard to teach through a computer.
