ACTIVITY D: Essay Examine the message below and answer the questions that follows. Write your answers in your notebook.

1. What kind of an internet threat do you think is this? It is flaming, is the act of expressing hurtful things about someone online, generally in ALL CAPS and in a public platform, with the intent of shaming them. Flaming is similar to harassment in that it relates to an online fight that takes place through emails, instant messages, or chat rooms. It is a form of public bullying in which a person is threatened with harsh language or photos. 2. Why is this a threat to you? It is threat to me because once you experience flaming it will hurt you so much especially you are not the only one who can see insulting messages. It is a threat to me because it has a serious effect to the victim in terms of psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, isolation, low self-esteem, social alienation, school phobias, and poor academic performance are common serious effect to the victim. That is why flaming is a threat for me and I know that I’m not the only one but there’s a lot of people that would say that flaming is a threat for everyone. 3. What can you do to avoid this? There are a lot of ways on how to avoid flaming. For me, be polite, don’t post anything that can hurt someone feelings especially if you can’t say it in person. If you are the victim, before defending yourself, try to seek an advice to your trusted friends so that you may defend yourself right. Don’t respond in a harsh way, you might want to respond that way, but this is what he/she wants by inciting an argument. So, as much as possible, respond in a calmy way. 4. How will you reconstruct the message so it will not be hurtful? “Hello, COURAGEOUS! You’re not an idiot, everyone makes mistake and we’re not PERFECT, you’d understand why you’re wrong BUT NOT IN EVERYTHING YOU DO YOU’RE WRONG. But apparently, you’re so AWESOME even you make mistakes. And also, it’s okay to be FAT, BE PROUD of who you are, as long as you LOVE YOURSELF no one can drag you down.”...
