Engelsk uke 34 Long walk to forever The books plot tells the story of a woman who is getting married, but on her way to her wedding is visited by a childhood friend she hasn’t seen for years. He confesses his love to her and she realizes that she has feelings for him. The story is set in the early afternoon outside Catharine’s house. Later in the story they walk through a park besides a school for the blind. The theme of the story is love, making choices, hiding feelings and morals. The story consists of three main characters: Newt, a private in the US artillery. He is quite the stereotype of lovestories because in many lovestories one of the main characters are a childhood friend of the broom who hasn’t seen her in a long time because he(newt) has been in the military. Catharine, the childhood friend of newt who was getting married but still has feelings for Newt is also a stereotypic character because this kind of lovestory about girl who is getting married meets a childhood friend on the day of the wedding and they end up running away together(perhaps). Catharine seems like the least decisive and most easily manipulated woman any AWOL artillery private could ever wish for. Henry Stewart Chasens, Catharines fiancée is a man only spoken of In the story, thus freezing him out and making him a stranger.
