Islamic art was first introduced during the seventh century and onward by nonMuslim and Muslims that lived within the territory where culturally Islamic populations whereat. Islamic art is very vast because of its expanding over 1400 years it includes architecture, calligraphy, painting, glass, ceramics, textiles, and much more. Islamic art this essay will focus on is architecture, glass making, calligraphy, and ceramic. Islamic art covers a range of artistic fields, for example, architecture and glassmaking. Islamic architecture incorporates secular and religious style. Also, uses styles from Ancient roman buildings with the traditional style of Sassanid and Byzantine. An example of a religious style is a Mosque. A Mosque is a place of prayer and community meeting space. A mosque that has been best persevered and an early great mosque is The Great Mosque of Kairouan. Located in Tunisia founded during 670 it has all the features of an early mosque. Another example of Islamic art is glassmaking. Glassmaking was concerned a luxury art because vivid patterns that took time to make. An example of Glassmaking is The Luck of Eden hall it is a 13th-century Syrian beaker. The material used to make this beaker is blue, green, red and white enamel colors for the design with gilding. The Great Mosque of Kairouan and The Luck of Eden hall beaker is great example of Islamic art. An example of Islamic art is calligraphy and ceramic. Islamic calligraphy was presented during the middle ages and is seen in architecture and decorative art. The earliest representation

of calligraphy was shown in Kufic script. An example of calligraphy shown in architecture is the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. The calligraphy on the Dome of the Rock is verses from the Quran. Another example of Islamic art is ceramics. Ceramics originated during the 8th century in Iraq. An example of ceramics is Lusterware a type of pottery that has an iridescent metallic glaze.
