Description

HIS 100 Research Plan Preparation Worksheet Research Question 1 Original Question Revised Question During the drafting process, was the constitution made to be something “set in What were the intentions of the U.S. Constitution from the stone” and not changed or was it made to change and be interpreted Founding Fathers, and what separate views did each of them have differently as time passes on? towards drafting it? I revised this question because I found more information about the Founding Fathers, like more of their personalities, how they grew up, and their views on different topics. I found that the men had different views about how they thought the U.S. Constitution should be, and that was more intriguing to me to learn. Research Question 2 Original Question Revised Question I understand that the Founding Fathers were for the idea of the U.S. What were some major steps, such as certain actions put forth, in constitution, but who was the person or man who actually first said we needed the creation and drafting of the U.S. Constitution? a constitution put in place, who initiated that first move? I learned in my research thus far, that it wasn’t really one man who first said, “hey we need a constitution put in place.” There were a few men, such as the Founding Fathers, that had a lot of ideas pertaining to the creation of a U.S. Constitution.

The primary sources I have used for research have already helped me better understand the drafting of the U.S. Constitution. Jacob Shallus’s transcript displays a simpler view of the sections written in the U.S. Constitution. For example, he writes more about how the government is to be set up for the people. This helps with understanding of how the government’s role and power was intended to be after the U.S. Constitution was put in place. The first House Journal of the First Session of Congress introduces James Madison’s choice of amendments that he wanted drafted to protect the people’s civil liberties. That source helps with my first revised question and lets me see Madison’s views and perspectives on the U.S. Constitution and what he intended it to be. My sources are reliable and help me understand the context of the U.S. Constitution better than before my research started.
