“Specific predictive factors in children with learning disability: A qualitative study” discusses the relation of learning disabilities and behaviors of the mother while pregnant, there is a direct correlation between a mother being put on bedrest and learning disabilities. Mothers who used drugs while pregnant were more likely to have a child with learning disabilities. The study was only done on a small scale, but the findings were useful and hopeful in providing some answers about what might be a cause or factors in having a child with a

learning disability. Have any of your questions been answered by the article you read? Explain. ● My question was What causes someone to have a sensory disorder? Yes, my question was answer, at least a little bit. I was put onto bed rest while pregnant as well I had to take a prescription for sever acid reflux. My child has a learning disability so the finding in the article are still ringing true. Citation: Jain, R., & Pandey, N. (2015). teach children with learning disabilities. He notes the three things needed to be done in order for the team to be successful those things being, “Transformational Change", “Transparency" and “Teambuilding". He then goes on to talk about how change is something that has to happen and that we need to be okay with that, were in the second stage of the technology era and we need to be able to evolve with the times. Have any of your questions been answered by the article you read? Explain. ● My question was, when was sensory processing disorder discovered? No, this article did not answer my question as it was more of a memo style writing. Although I did learn that people are taking the steps needed to ensure that our schools are ever improving to the ways that children need to be taught. So, this does answer my question of a child with learning disabilities fitting into a regular classroom. Knowing that they are taking proactive measures to change the way they are teaching in this day and age. Citation: Bryan, J. L. (2000). Children with disabilities. What I learned when exploring my topic through the humanities lens: ● The article, “Shaken and Stirred: A Pilot Project in Arts and Special Education. Teaching Artist Journal” discusses blending art activities with teaching children with learning disabilities and creating a curriculum that could be used by many in the future. The study found that children with learning disabilities did much better in school when they were using the arts to teach. The children felt that they were “given a voice” and were found to have a higher selfesteem. The hardest part was getting the adults use to being able to teaching and making different curriculums then they were used to. They had to keep journals and record everything so they could learn from what they were doing. The project was an overall success!

Have any of your questions been answered by the article you read? Explain. ● My question was What does a sensory disorder look like in different countries? The article didn’t answer this question. Although again it did answer my question of a child with an LD fitting into a regular classroom. Teaching that is done so by using the arts seems to be a very useful strategy for teaching children. Its nice that the schools are evolving to incorporate many styles to be able to reach the kids. Plus, it seems to make school are more fun place to be. Citation: Ponder, C., & Kissinger, L. (2009).
