Topic: How to start and maintain good relationships with coworkers

I. Introduction

A. Attention Getter (Examples in Chapter 9 of Speak Out)

Successful working relationships include trust, cooperation, coordination, and respect. To make your job more fun and profitable, cultivate healthy interactions with the people you associate with at work. These relations can also be useful as sources or contacts in the future.

B. Topic (this should match your topic) OR Thesis statement

Coworkers, managers, and individuals you oversee, as well as employers, service providers, and competent peers, are also people with whom you have a working relationship. It takes time for strong working relationships to develop, so be reliable and dependable as good working relationships leads to high productivity.

C. Build connection with the audience

People who have a best friend at work are seven times more likely to be involved in their careers, according to Gallup. It doesn't have to be a "best friend." People who have a good friend at work are more likely to be successful, according to Gallup. Furthermore, strong working relationships are tied to improved benefit and customer loyalty.

D. “Credentials” of Speaker (Credibility)-One or two sentences to show how you are an expert.

HR is sometimes misunderstood as an organization's "police department," a role created solely for the purpose of recruiting and firing employees. As an HR officer, I must connect with workers in a manner that fosters a positive and balanced organizational atmosphere in order to combat attrition and disengagement.

E. Preview your main points (1, 2)

Starting and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues begins with being able to listen carefully and speaking clearly to communicate effectively and being able to develop trust with colleagues.

Transition into body of speech

From the first day on the job, employees want to form good relationships with HR and their coworkers.

II. Body of your speech (this is where detail is found and is best contained in 2-3 points. Too many points will confuse the audience)

A. Main Point 1: Listen carefully and speak clearly to communicate effectively. Listen carefully to others and talk plainly to improve your communication skills and working relationship (Roffey, 2016). If you are not sure you understand what the other person is doing, repeat it in your own language and ask if you got it right. Make it clear to you that you respect their views. During talks, maintain eye contact. When something bothers you, keep your feelings in control and avoid using berating language. Clients, service suppliers, and other practitioners would be able to reach you if they have your business card. B. Transition: Create a linking statement to point 2 Through effective and clear communication trust with coworkers can be built and sustained. C. Main Point 2: Develop Trust with Colleagues. By keeping secrets and not gossiping, you will build confidence (Garfinkle, 2021). Keep your appointments and complete your assignments on time. This shows that you can be trusted by others. Be sure you follow up with your promises. If you find you won't be able to keep a commitment, apologize and offer to fix the situation in a different way. Instead of blaming others or something else, take responsibility for your mistakes. Trust is built on the foundation of integrity. In all of your dealings, be just and frank. Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and knowledge. Return borrowed materials as soon as possible. D. Transition: Create a linking statement to conclusion ________________________________________________

III. Conclusion

A. Restate your thesis _

Good working relationships take time to build, so be consistent and dependable, as successful working relationships contribute to increased productivity._

B. Summary (briefly review each of your main points)

Employees are more likely to be motivated and see managers as trustworthy and transparent when contact is efficient and responsive. Employees would become more dedicated and engaged to the job they do and the business they work for as a result of employee empowerment and accountability. _

C. Closing (End speech appropriately, remind us of your topic and say thank-you)

_Starting and maintaining good working relationship is something that every HR officer would like to see happen in their organization. As much as it is not simple, its long term effects are beneficial to the organization. _
