1.Describe briefly how science and technology evolved during each period in history. In terms of science, I would describe it that there’s a human endeavor (in science) and skepticism which where human is continually critiquing the existing evidence and investigations that they made in order to understand better and better. Also, they are constantly finding and discovering new things that will contribute to science. For example, Ptolemy stated that the earth is the center of the Universe and it was generally accepted until the 16th century, after which it was superseded by heliocentric models such as that of Nicolaus Copernicus, and that’s why science is evolving in each period of history. In terms of technology, I would describe it that the humans are also continually think and strive on how they could reduce more the human effort and life inconvenience by improving, growing, stabilizing, and strengthening the technology. For example, from typewriter to computer, and that’s why technology is also evolving. 2.Write your own impression on the current science education in the Philippines. In my own impression, the current science education in the Philippines has improved and enhanced the curriculum and facilities which where allows me to explore and discover new things more. Also, it allows to me to understand more what I’m trying to learn and perceive. 3.Prepare a listing with brief explanation of government policies in relation to the development and functions of science and technology. According to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and National Research Council of the Philippines (NCRP), the following were the policies that were the results of the consultation below. 1. Social Sciences, Humanities, Education, International Policies and Governance a. Integrating ASEAN awareness in basic education without adding to the curriculum. b. Emphasizing teaching in the mother tongue. c. Developing school infrastructure and providing for ICT broadband. d. Local food security. 2. Physics, Engineering and Industrial Research, Earth and Space Sciences, and Mathematics a. Emphasizing degrees, licenses, and employment opportunities. b. Outright grants for peer monitoring. c. Review of RA 9184. d. Harnessing science and technology as independent mover of development.

3. Medical, Chemical, and Pharmaceutical Sciences a. Ensuring compliance of drug-manufacturing firms with ASEAN-harmonized standards by full implementation of the Food and Drug Administration. b. Creating an educational council dedicated to standardization of pharmaceutical services and care. c. Empowering food and drug agencies to conduct evidence-based research as pool of information d. Allowing two percent of the GDP to research. e. Legislating a law supporting human genome project. 4. Biological Sciences, Agriculture, and Forestry a. Protecting and conserving biodiversity by full implementation of existing laws. b. Use of biosafety and standard model by ASEAN countries. c. Promoting indigenous knowledge systems and indigenous people’s conservation. d. Formulation of common food and safety standards. Brief Explanation: Generally, these policies aim to improve and promote the scientific and technological research and education, agriculture, industry, and production. Especially, to provide safety, to grow our economy and to make our people’s life easier and convenient. 4.Prepare a personal written report on your own reaction/impression of our life today with the advancement in science and technology. Science and technology are very essential to our community especially to the whole world. It contributes a big change to our everyday lives and community. However, science and technology are not always good for our community because it depends on humans especially to the scientists on how they would utilize the science and technology whether for good purposes or self-interest only. In fact, science is neutral, and we hope that science and technology should always utilize for good purposes, and not for bad purposes. But there is a bright side, we know that the science and technology are now continually and constantly evolving because of human endeavor, skepticism and relentless discovering of new knowledge and inventions in order to make our life easier and convenient for all people. With advancement of science and technology, I really appreciate these happenings because I see how science and technology benefit the community and helping us in the betterment of our lives....
