Description

This week we were tasked with the most unique and interesting set of assignments we were required to solve. I enjoyed this week's assignments because they allowed me to analyze and concentrate on the moral and ethical values that I iterate and practice on a subconscious and conscious level.

Extracting information from the reading assignments have been key to providing solid arguments that we can share with our peers. I enjoyed reading the Huck and Jim conflict alongside researching and grasping Kantian categorical ethics. Learning about how things may be correct but not exactly right was a brain teaser and awakening simultaneously.

I would say the most interesting part of my learning week was in our discussion forum. One student had pointed out that taxes are a form of Kantian categorical ethics as we are in essence paying our government to live on “their” land or else face extreme penalties. This had made me ponder over our global economics and socialism. I question why society cannot operate without a monetary system. I almost get the sense that humans do not have the ability to completely share what they have as we always want something in return. An example regarding this statement I could give is an idea I obtained from a movie (Geostorm) where all the nations in the world collectively built machinery to save mankind. No money to pay the engineers or the materials was used it was all an effort for survival. My argument is why we can’t live in a society where we just live (to put it frankly). Self-sustainability in the agricultural sector will ensure food security and the equal allocating of land to everyone will ensure that everyone has what they need to survive. A grand prospect but has made me think

Have a blessed week sir!...
