Abnormal overgrowth of one type of leukocyte/lymphocyte that occurs in the lymph nodes and spleen

Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Hodgkin’s = any age, older males

Non-Hodgkin’s

Non-Hodgkin’s = usually older than 60, males

Causes:

Labs/Diagnostics:

Hodgkin’s = viral (HBV, HIV), chemical

Lymph node biopsy

Non-Hodgkin’s = viral (HBV, HIV), chemical, solid organ transplant

Malignant

PET scan, CT scan

Interventions: HL is more treatable than NHL HL

Signs and Symptoms: Large, painless lymph nodes (usually begin in neck) Fevers

External radiation Chemotherapy NHL Chemo and monoclonal antibodies

Night sweats

Radiation, irradiated antibodies

Unplanned weight loss

Stem cell transplants, vaccine therapy

Some may have no symptoms at time of

CAR-T Therapy (immunotherapy with own stem cells)...
