Narrative Report A Narrative Report on the Virtual Welcome and Orientation for School Year 2020-2021, Grade 9-Newton. I.
Introduction: A virtual welcome and orientation is one of many ways to reach some of our
students in the midst of this pandemic where in face-to-face learning is not allowed. The virtual welcome and orientation take place thru various platforms such as zoom, googlemeet, video conferences (mobile number), and so for. The virtual welcome and orientation involve cooperative discussion with the teacher and student and opportunities to share perspectives and issues related to the agenda or topics of the meeting. It allows a smooth communication between the learners and the teacher. October 05, 2020, at exactly 7:30 in the morning I and some of my Grade 9-Newton had a short meet about the different things regarding the new phase of their learning. II.
Narration of Events:
Part I (First 10 mins of the virtual welcome and orientation) We started the virtual welcome and orientation by, a “Kamustahan,” and sharing how each one of us especially the students cope with the new normal of the distance learning. Some students were saying they’re having a hard time answering their modules because they cannot understand some of the topic and others saying their doing a group study thru different media platforms so that they can share and ask each other. Part II (Actual Orientation) I presented the agenda for our virtual orientation while the students were listening and viewing the powerpoint presentation regarding the following:
Home-based class program Schedule of their homeroom guidance and the guidelines in answering their modules Names and contact details of their teachers Guidelines on the use of SiPacks Schedule of retrieval of First Quarter SiPacks
Part III (Q and A)

I open the table for the students so that they could ask questions regarding on our orientation.
III.
Reflections/Insights: Virtual Orientation helps the teacher and students to communicate and deals with
the new way of learning, new distance learning. But it still limited to those who have access of internet and many students are still beyond the modern technology and need to think of another ways on how to 100% reach all my students....
