NEW VISION STATEMENT At Tesla Motors Inc. their vision statement is “to create the most compelling car company of the 21st century by driving the world’s transition to electric vehicles.” (Panmore,2017). This vision highlights the company’s focus on sustainable energy. In its vision statement, Tesla Motors Inc. aims to be the most irresistible in the industry. This vision focuses on brand image and product. By the most compelling car company, it means a company with a fascinating vision of renewable future – a company with a strong brand image and that creates real value (Cheshnotes,2017). The vision statement of Tesla Motors Inc. indicates ability and supremacy in the business and it aims to be the most compelling by integrating new technology in its electric automobiles and related products (Panmore,2017). On the other hand, Tesla also focuses on designing and manufacturing cars. The company uses advanced technology to address current concerns, such as environmental conservation (Panmore,2017). Tesla‘s vision statement reveals the organizations aim to be the dominant player in the global electric automobile market.

MISSION STATEMENT In 2016, Tesla Motors Inc. revised their mission statement from “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable transport” to “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy” (Panmore,2017). The world is headed for power-driven vehicles and environmental solutions and Tesla has decided to not only help but to accelerate the process (Cheshnotes,2017).

The new mission statement points out a minor yet important shift in the company’s business, to address market opportunities for sustainable energy (Panmore,2017). This mission statement addresses Tesla’s part in promoting the

automotive industry towards new technologies for sustainable business and products that depend on sustainable energy (Panmore,2017). The change from “sustainable transport” to “sustainable energy” exhibits that Tesla’s mission statement advances to match the present-day strategic objectives of the business (Panmore,2017).
