Description

Hi Class, I would use organizational collective motivation (OCM) in the development of an organizational motivation approach. “Organizational change management (OCM) is a framework for managing the effect of new business processes, changes in organizational structure or cultural changes within an enterprise” (Searchcio, n.d.). This way ensures all employees are working towards the same common goal. OCM focuses on individual aspects and collective aspects of an organization. The individual aspects consist of identity, commitment and value of effort, while the collective aspects consist of identity, commitment and actions. OCM looks at what it takes to motivate an individual and a group. It is important for employers to know what drives their employees. Employers can help their employees set achievable goals and push them to reach their goals. It’s essential for managers to understand that motivating an individual is different from motivating a group of people. Working in a group of people can be difficult when everyone is not on the same page. If an individual in a group is unmotivated, there will be problems throughout the entire group. OCM can benefit organizations in many ways and can help management and employees work together more collectively and efficiently. The behavioral aspects that influence my decision making-process are growth, recognition and feeling valued as an employee. Employee engagement is an essential motivational model within an organization. It is important that employees have the opportunity to develop and grow within a company. As an employee I want to feel that I matter and that my thoughts and opinions count even if my ideas aren’t used. I also feel recognition is an important factor. I find it rewarding to be recognized for a job well done and this keeps me motivated to do even more.People like to know when they are doing a good job and want to feel valued by their company.
