Philippine College Foundation, Inc. Purok 4, Poblacion, Valencia City, 8709 Bukidnon

Introductory Message For the facilitator: Welcome to the English 7 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Genres of Viewing. This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators both from public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling. This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.

For the learner: Welcome to the English 7 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Genres of Viewing. The 21st century learners like you are visual and digital. According to research, students take in information 55 percent in visual and only (7) percent in text. Just as listening, reading, writing and speaking, viewing entails giving attention to facts and relationships, inferences and to critical analysis (Kathie Johnson and Connie McDonald, 2007). As you view visual messages, you need to use a range of viewing skills and strategies to make sense of the visual messages, and accompanying oral and print language. In this module, video clips are presented followed by comprehension questions concerning the video presented. Sit back, relax and have fun as you explore and continue to hone your skill in viewing through the various easy and enjoyable tasks provided in this module. What I Need to Know

What made you say so? ________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________ When we immersed ourselves in viewing, it is very important that we censor what we watch, whether in television or in the internet.
