Jessica Young Project Charter October 5, 2015 Project Title: Wedding Ceremony & Reception Description: Planning the ideal wedding will include - 100-150 guests from all age ranges - Simple Menu that all guests can choose from - Money spent is either exactly on budget or slightly short of - Vendors to take care of different projects throughout the day - A happily married couple at the end of the reception - A ceremony with family and friends as the crowd and a preacher to join the couple in matrimony Purpose: The wedding ceremony is going to be planned to the best of the bride’s expectations. As of right now, there are too many different people planning and too many ideas trying to be fit into one wedding. With the current project management team, we want to achieve an easier, stress free experience for the bride and groom. Objectives: - Provide the highest quality suppliers of wedding services - To ensure best allocation of wedding budget - To use fresh trends but still incorporate traditional elements - To Stay in tune with couple’s vision of their wedding while expressing their unique personalities - Everyone being in the right place at the right time - Happy Guests - No Family Conflict - Feeling Beautiful (for the Bride) - Having all vendors deliver correct items - Stress-less planning experience for the couple Funding: Funding will mostly come from the Bride’s family. There will also be minor funding from the groom’s family as well as the bride and groom themselves. Major Deliverables: - Engagement photos - Bridesmaid luncheon - Bachelor/ette Parties - Bridal Shower - Wedding Gown - Caterers - Flowers - Invitations - Bridesmaid Dresses - Cake - Gifts - Guest Book - Vows - Dance Lessons Success Criteria:

The deliverables produced by family and friends are appreciated and will most likely be beautiful. Major Milestone (Dates): 12 Months Before: Deciding a date and announcing engagement 8-10 Months Before: Create a wedding Registry 6-8 Months Before: Book Honeymoon, Buy bridesmaid dresses, send out “Save the Date” 4-6 Months Before: Buy Wedding Bands, Renew passports 3 Months Before: Order wedding cake, Attend Bridal Shower, Rent formalwear 2 Months Before: Mail Invitations, Book hairstylist, Write vows 1 Month Before: Apply for marriage license, Confirm with vendors, purchase gifts for parents and bridal party 2 Weeks Before: Finalize RSVP’s, Finalize seating chart 1 Week Before: Give caterer final head count, Attend bachelorette party 2-3 Days: Have gown cleaned, confirm rental car Day Before: Provide vendors with emergency numbers, Rehearsal dinner Day of: Give Wedding Bands to best man, GET MARRIED Key Assumptions: - Will be able to find vendors within budget - All important family members and friends will be able to attend - Money provided by parents will be available when needed Constraints: - Limited Budget - Venue only holds X amount of people - Wedding is 10 months from today Major Risks: - Large number of unexpected guests - Unexpected weather - Power failure - Fire - Last minute expenses Approval Requirements: - State requirements for a legal marriage Project Manager: Jessica Young (Bride) Michael Barrack (Groom) Teresa Young (Mother of the Bride) Bradley Young (Father of the Bride) Reporting Requirements: - Every time a milestone is met.
