Source (e.g, TED talk, Univ. of Michigan, NPR): TED Talk Why was this topic of interest to you (2 points)? This caught my attention because I love learning about the way our brain tricks us. Learning how our perceptions of things can change our whole thought process and specific to individuals. Interview summary (in your own words, 250 words or less, including how this relates to the course): This Ted talk is about the way our consciousness shapes our individual way of thinking. Seth talks about how we can’t survive if we don’t not have an existing conscious. Also, he put the brain senses of perception in a different light. For example, he showed us a recording of a distorted voice then gave us the original version. After hearing the original we could then perceive what the distorted voice was saying. This relates to the topic of perception which is defined as conscious meaningful sensory experience that is created by interpreting detected sensations, dependent on experiences. In conclusion, this Ted talk enlightened me on the consciousness and how it is so important to living and survival.

Exam Questions (5 points, 1 point for each, use as much space as needed): 1.TRUE OR FALSE: We can still survive without a consciousness. False. Without our consciousness, there is no world or self. 2.Short Answer: Why are controlled hallucination’s important? 3. Short Answer: How are Hallucination and perceptions different?
