Philippine Seas (A documentary by Atom Araullo) Seas, the most calming environment, where the most beautiful sunset will rise, where every people want to go to, where fishermen’s work, is not any more in a pristine condition. As time passes by, our country’s seas became dull because of people’s negligence. I literally cried when I saw those beautiful creatures dying, killed because of our selfishness and became an endangered species.

To be honest, I’m kind of guilty and sad when it comes to this issue. I want them (marine species) to have their best in their lives but how can they do that when we are just eating them nonstop? We really shouldn’t be dependent in eating them nonstop or all day long. The whole planet will be in danger when the marine ecosystem will continue like this. I hope by watching this, all of us will become aware of what we should do in our beloved marines’ species and ecosystem.

If I would ask for the environmental remedies regarding this issue, it shall be a hiatus fishing season. It’s my first remedy on my mind because marine species can have their long free time from being attacked or from getting caught and it will be more beneficial also to the fishermen’s out there because they can get more fish once the hiatus fishing season is done. As for the meantime, that hiatus fish season is not done, local government units should give those fishermen’s a substitute job for them and for us to have a win-win situation. I saw how fishermen gave all their effort and time for them to have a good catch, I saw their struggles, I saw how dangerous their work can be, so I think we need to implement the hiatus fishing season. We can have a good working environment if we will weigh all things that matter and will balance all things so no one will be left behind....
