The article I chose from the Science Daily was "Genetic effects of Chernobyl radiation." Understanding the science behind the disaster is important because of its domino effect on all people exposed to high radiation and health problems that followed. The research I have conducted benefits me because it is vital to know the health issues after being exposed to high radiation. You can never be too specific, and different understanding outcomes for every individual is beneficial. The advantage of knowing how and what it affects can help find cures or preventive matters to everyone that could be exposed. Research states that it was not passed down genetically, but it did cause tumors that created thyroid cancer—knowing that, it's an advantage for everyone to understand what could be expected.

2. How might finding the answer to the specific question you posed in the question development worksheet in Project 2 affect others around you?

My specific question, “Did all children get thyroid cancer that we closely in contact with the Chernobyl accident,” is vital because of the number of tumors there were in children. If all the children developed thyroid cancer, what are their chances of survival, and could it have been prevented?
