Regarding the pioneers in sociology from Topic 1, which theorists do you think have the most relevance for today? How do you see their theories being applied today? Give examples There are many pioneers in sociology who have an impact on today. The one I feel is the most relevant in today’s time is W.E.B DuBois. DuBois is well-known for his work on racism in America between majority and the minority. DuBois used the combination of academic sociology with social reform. DuBois was famous for the term “double consciousness” which concentrated on the experience of the African American and the challenge of injustice society. Racism has changed since this time in age everyone can eat together, go to school together, but sadly racism still exists today. If you turn on the news you will see a form of injustice racism. Minorities are racially profiled, and majorities are also racially profiled. For example, people who believe in the BLM instead of ALM some believe that it is racist because all lives should matter. Minorites believe that majorities are racist because of the privilege that they have in America, they can do, say, and act how they want get away with it. Racism is still very well among us today....
