This shows how to make powerpoints with ease...

Description

In this section of the Module, you must submit a PowerPoint Presentation. You will present the PowerPoint as if you are giving a real presentation talk. 1. Prepare between 8 to 10 slides. More does not mean better in this case. Plan each slide layout and organize your information. 2. You are welcome to show pictures and graphs in the presentation. Make sure they are relevant and that you cite your outside sources at the bottom of the slide using a smaller font that can be read. (not in the notes section). 3. You can either record your PowerPoint presentation using the slideshow record function in PowerPoint or use the "Notes" section in PowerPoint to type out the scripts you would say in the note section of each corresponding slide. Here is a link showing you how to use PowerPoint to record: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/record-a-slide-showwith-narration-and-slide-timings-0b9502c6-5f6c-40ae-b1e7-e47d8741161c?ui=enus&rs=en-us&ad=us 4. The narration should be clear and coherent. Do not just read what is on the slide but have extra added information to present in your narration. This goes for the typed notes too. 5. Use the rubric attached to the assignment to construct your presentation. Make sure you do not treat each slide as a Q&A session. The presentation must flow on each slide as you move from one topic to the other, and from slide to slide. 6. Below are some general tips to help you create your presentation. You can also see more information and details about the basics of preparing an oral presentation in the following links: a. b. c. d.

General Tips to Create a PowerPoint Presentation: • • • • •

Your title slide should have an appropriate title including your name, date, and your course section. Every new section needs to have a title on the slide. Make sure to use headers and subheaders when and if needed. Use basic font styles and sizes (no less than 18 and no more than 48) and avoid those that are too fancy and hard to read. Also make sure that your title and your body have two different font sizes. The slides should not contain paragraphs of information. Use bullets with short sentences that emphasize the information presented. If your font size has to be decreased to a size 12, you have too much text on your slide. Avoid using backgrounds and colors that are too busy and distracting. Go for simple designs. Stay away from light green, yellow font colors, grey text, grey background, or anything neon. Make sure that if you are going to use clipart, that they are related to the topic being discussed.

Added pictures need to be clear (not blurry), relevant, and labeled. If you are using animations, keep it simple. Make sure to cite and add the references of the images, graphs, and information that you use as your sources of information. You can add the references at the bottom of the corresponding slide (not in the notes section). Do not overcrowd your slides by having lots of bullet points, graphs, charts, and a busy background all in one. Again, limit the number of slides. You should have between 8 to 10 slides. Plan your slide layout and organize your information. Think about your audience. Some people will read the information on the slide, some will listen to the talk, and some will do both. There must be a balance between the information on the slides and the information narrated or in the notes. Do not add all the information that is important in your notes or narration. But remember that you cannot put every detail on the slide. So, think about a balance between the two....
