Currently I am seeking a summer internship in marketing, and I am highly interested in the talent brand social media internship at the Universal Music Group, which I found through LinkedIn. This internship position excites me because it will give me an opportunity to combine my knowledge of marketing through a business perspective with my experience in social media and content creation.

I recognize that familiarity with content production and social platforms is critical in succeeding in the talent brand social media internship. As the Vice President of Marketing for the USC men’s semi-professional soccer team, Trojans FC, I manage multiple digital marketing platforms such as the team’s official Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, website, and blog. To market the team’s weekly games, I promote on these platforms prior to the game, update them in live time during the game, and post results and highlights after the game. All content must be polished and ready by each posting deadline. In order to remain organized, I utilize a content calendar and programs such as UNUM and Hootsuite. I want to apply my experience with these platforms and skills in content creation to efficiently complete projects at the Universal Music Group such as drafting content for posts and tracking post performance. In fact, I am particularly excited about the opportunity to attend talent management events to gather content. Another desired skill when working in social media and talent branding is proficiency in PowerPoint and copywriting. At USC, I am a student worker in the marketing department at the Marshall School of Business. My job entails assisting the marketing professors with various tasks such as organizing the professors’ data in an excel sheet, creating a presentation on PowerPoint from given information, or compiling research on a specific topic in a Word document. This spring semester alone, I have assisted with research for three different clinical marketing studies and crafted up to five excel sheets and two PowerPoint presentations for each study. This experience makes me confident I can thoroughly execute intern tasks at the Universal Music Group such as researching the latest social trends and creating promotional materials. I strive to contribute valuable creative insights on content creation while applying my social media knowledge in this internship at the Universal Music Group.
