The Sas institute was founded in 1976 by a man called James Goodnight( Ceo ) America had seen adecline in job losses in 2009, for 3 out of 10 American’s were unhappy with their jobs the company SaS institute was experiencing drop in sales with possible jobs cuts on the cards , Jim Goodnight announced to 13 000 employees that nobody would be losing their jobs the only requirement was to cut certain costs to survive . (Crowley.M.C( 2013, January 22). Sas Institute organizational structure The Sas Institute is the largest private owned company with no shareholders and there is no demand for short term results with a stress free working environment. SAS Staff are given projects to complete with creativity. The SaS had created something remarkable the freedom to be creative the Sas Institute employees are given projects that causes less of a distraction giving the employee an opportunity to express themselves by doing their best with projects that suite their need. Managers are trained to use the creativity method . The managing team is taught to think in the line of creatively employees are given the freedom to share their thoughts ideas without fear the managing team is able then to share ideas which sparks more ideas the staff feel appreciation in the workplace if the customer complains the board of I.T contacts the customer to share their ideas that they might have to improve the product free upgrades are provided with monthly fee. . (Managing for creativity.2014.). Policies Removed Open Door Policy . The sas institution removes all the policies, rules to avoid unproductive work, meetings are removed as well in fact it seems that a lot more companies are following the same trend 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Sas Institute, Edward Jones , Wegmans Food Market , Google, Nugget Market

These are top 5 companies to work in 2010 ( SAS is the best company to work for .2010.). The Sas Institute must have a secret if a company removes rules ,policies and meetings is like a ship without a sail there is no assigned job duties to the person a laid back approach to short term goals are set if it happens it happens it doesn’t it doesn’t .( SaS case study .n.d.).

Treat everyone fairly and equally. Trust the employee’s judgement in doing a good job. Make sure all decisions are long –term. Bottom – Up decision making.
