Introduction Please re-visit the following site:https://www.forbes.com/2010/04/20/global-2000-leading-worldbusiness-global-2000-10-intro.html#1f18dbb1512b We had to go over last week's reading material again this week and choose one firm from the list; I chose General Mills. For as long as I can remember, General Mills has been a tried-and-true brand in my house; people like to eat Bugles, Cheerios, Count Chocular, and Toaster Strudel. With Chex Mix, Kix, and Go-Gurt, I chose the same trusted brand when raising my own family. Bisquick was a pancake Saturday mainstay, as well. So I was quite interested in seeing how this organization used diversity, and I was not disappointed.

The best companies for multicultural women I choose is General Mills Success for General Mills requires a deep understanding of the lives of our increasingly diversified customers, which can only be accomplished with the insight gained from a workforce with a diverse range of viewpoints, ideas, and backgrounds. We're delighted to provide food that people like, and our commitment to diversity in our personnel, culture, consumers, and broader society ensures that we can continue to do so. “— (Jeff Harmening, CEO n.d).

One leading company. Do research on this company to find out how it leverages diversity Diversity and inclusion are not just the ethical thing to do, but they are also critical to our company's success. Because General Mills goods are sold in over 100 countries across the world, it's vital that our employees and suppliers reflect the diverse population we serve—especially given the cultural aspect of food. Our leadership team includes women, men, and leaders born outside of the United States, leaders who have spent their entire careers at General Mills, and leaders who are brand new to the company— and that's just the start. In order to propel our company forward, we must continue to create an inclusive future workforce. We aim to be fearless in fully accepting and fostering the exchange of ideas in a safe and courteous environment. (General Mills, 2021). A few details about our worldwide inclusiveness strategy:

Our CEO examines our progress on diversity and inclusion on a quarterly basis and sets the tone for responsibility across the organization. We have a company-wide strategy dedicated to worldwide workforce inclusion, cultural inclusion, consumer inclusion, and societal inclusion. By supporting employee networks and hiring and mentoring diverse people, our senior leaders create a culture of inclusion throughout the organization. Asian Leaders, Betty's Family (LGBT), Black Champions, Hispanic, Women in Leadership, and Veterans are some of the employee networks. (General Mills, 2021). We expanded our Courageous Conversations effort in 2017 to provide employees with a safe and supportive environment in which to conduct open and honest conversations about significant problems affecting our work and personal lives. Employees listened to experts and took part in open discussions on a variety of topics, including Islamophobia, transgender inclusion, and unconscious bias. Through networking and training opportunities, our Supplier Diversity section promotes and supports the growth of diverse suppliers. If you are a certified diverse business (veteran, womanowned, LGBT-owned, and/or minority-owned) (General Mills, 2021). General Mills gathered a group of senior executives to discuss inclusion and diversity. An Executive Diverse Council will be formed. Women and employees of color are recruited and mentored by this group. It also serves as an advocate for the aforementioned employee networks (Green, 2015). In addition, General Mills promotes diversity inside the firm through a program called Courageous Conversations. This program endeavor provides a secure environment for participants. Employees can attend to have open and honest discussions about matters that may be contentious in nature but have an impact on their daily lives at work and at home. Employees

may discuss, participate, and feel safe in the knowledge that they will be accepted. Employees can attend numerous events hosted by panels, forums, and specialists to assist them in developing constructive coping techniques when dealing with challenges (General Mills, 2021a).

In conclusion, we appreciate what makes each of us unique at General Mills, whether it's inside our organization, our communities, or our customers, because diversity brings strength and opportunity. As we speed our expansion, creating a culture of belonging is a critical business strategy for us. We achieve higher levels of creativity, original thought, and performance by championing the voices of people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and methods. General Mills' commitment to diversity is built on four pillars: personnel, cultural, customer, and society. Each pillar informs and elevates the others in order to have the greatest influence on our company and the world.
