ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, Ninth Edition, Table 4.12 pg 101.

1. Describe today’s fitness test. Include the basic instructions and the equipment used. a. Equipment: yoga mat or soft pad b. Instructions: start in correct form (hands shoulder width apart, toes touching ground) and lower yourself all the way to the ground, lift yourself back up without rising backside and staying straight. Perform this push up as many times s possible; once correct form is lost or the student cannot continue on, the test is over. 2. Briefly describe the developmental activities that today’s group had the class complete. The developmental activities were both versions of modified push-ups. One was starting with the hands higher than the feet, almost a 45-degree angle. The other was starting with the feet on an elevated surface and hands on the ground. a. How does the activity tie into the group’s component of fitness?

It would take more muscular strength to lower yourself lower than the height of your feet. This could make the actual fitness test easier to perform since it would then seem easier. 3. What was one thing that you learned today? One thing that I learned is different exercises to help improve my muscular strength. I also learned a few different exercises, such as the push-up tabs and the open the book exercise. 4. Provide constructive feedback to the group. a. What was one thing they executed well? One thing they executed well was the layout of their powerpoint. None of the slides had an overwhelming amount of wording and they included videos in how to perform most of the exercises. b. What is something they can do to improve next time? I think they did a really good job overall and I have no major critiques!...
