Assessment criterion: 1.1 Describe the internal and external factors that impact on the employment relationship. Employment relationship plays a vital role to the success of an organization. Employer and employee come into mutual terms due to their common interests, which results in signing the agreement contract by both the parties confirming to the payment of a specific amount at the completion of the term of the agreement. Supporting and maintaining good practices and employment relations are important as it increases employee satisfaction, which in turns results in better productivity. There are many internal and external factors that impacts employments relationship, organizations needs to be aware of these factors, they are as follows: 1. Internal factors: I. Salary and benefits: The better the salary and rewards, more likely the organization can retain employees and attract new talents. This acts as a huge motivator for employee behaviour and strengthens employment relationship. If the organization fails to meet their promises, it will have an adverse impact and employees might feel they are exploited and taken advantage of. II. Organisational Culture: The staff behaviour in an organization can have a serious impact, on company culture as it will affect the employment relationship, if in case the company has a negative work culture, it wil drive employees away for its mission. Employees will no longer be connected with organizational goals. For example, a manager with no leadership skill will lack knowledge in managing people and maintaining good employee relationships. This will result in a lack of collaboration and teamwork. 2. External factors: I. Competitors: There are a lot of players in the market, hence any company would face competition in different ways. So as an employer it’s important to keep their employees engaged and highly aligned with their mission. In this case employees will stay committed to the company inspiteof lucrative offers they may get in form of high salary, attractive benefits and better job position II. Politics: It involves changes in the government and their laws, this can positively or negatively affect the organization, all depends on how the government can support country’s economy.

Assessment criterion: 1.2 Explain the different types of employment status The status of an employee within an organization is known asemployment status. In simple words, it is the contract that exist between the employer and its employee. An employment status clearly identifies an employee’s rights, responsibilities and benefits within the workplace

The different types of contracts are: 1. Permanent contract: The most common employment contract, mostly in the case for full-time jobs. Here, workers are all eligible for full employee benefits. In this contract, there is no time limit to the period of employment, unless the employer or employee decides to no longer continue with the company. 2. Temporary contract: Temporary contract exists when the contract is subject to change depending upon demand and availability. In spite of being a short-term status, employees still get to enjoy the same rights as any employee in the company. 3. Fixed-term contract: Such contracts last only for a certain time period and are planned well in advance. It will have an agreed end date between the employer and the employee. Assessment criterion: 1.3 Identify and analyse the reasons why it is important to determine an individual’s employment status. It is very crucial to clearly decide the employment status, as it facilitates employees and employers to better understand their rights and obligations. The proper identification and understanding of status of employment influences: 1. The approach of working relationship. 2. The common laws and other obligations employees and employers are subjected to. 3. The tax amount employer is responsible to pay....
