Details of assessable work in the topic (Optional forms of assessment, where permitted, are also detailed): Proportion Format of each assessment of total exercise marks(%) Assessment 1: Quiz Test 30% During each of the tutorials, students will be required to undertake a 20-question multiple choice quiz, covering the content of the relevant lecture for that tutorial. The test will take place after a brief tutorial discussion. The best 10 of the 12 quizzes will count toward the final mark. Accordingly, each quiz will represent 3% of the total 30% allocated for this assessment. The purpose of this assessment is to provide feedback to students on their comprehension of the key concepts cover in the lecture.

Students unable to attend tutorials for valid reasons will need to provide proof of this (e.g. medical certificate or other appropriate documentary evidence) and undertake alternative assessment (e.g. written answers to some of the end of chapter questions) in order to receive a multiple choice quiz grade for the week in question.

Due to the technical component of this assessment, submissions must be lodged on time. Where no extension has been granted late submissions will be dealt with a penalty of 5% of the allocated mark per day or part thereof overdue, up to the return date. Failure to complete the required peer reviews will result in a deduction of up to 30% of the total marks.

Proportion Format of each assessment of total exercise marks(%) Assessment 3: Group 30% Presentation and Report Students will be required to form groups of 2-3. After the group formation, each group will be allocated a business case from the textbook on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Thus, students should attend tutorials in the first couple of weeks to join a group and secure a case. The group should prepare a 12-minute presentation that addresses the case questions outlined in the following table. The presentation should also contain a brief discussion of the company background. Each group will be presenting its allocated case in the given week at the tutorial session.

The presentation should have a well-structured approach with a logical flow in presenting ideas into well-crafted academic presentation. Each group is also required to submit a group report by 4pm Friday, 18 June 2021. By referring to international business concepts, the group report should encompass the following structure: 1. Introduction 2. Answers of the case questions 3. Conclusion * See Assessment Policy, Schedule A: Assessment Practices Extensions may be granted in accordance with Clause 4.2 of the Assessment Variation Procedures. Clause 4.2. Assessment extensions

a. Where a student experiences unforeseen or exceptional circumstances that are reasonably likely to prevent substantial completion of an assessment activity by the due date, the student may apply to the Topic Coordinator for an extension via the learning management system. b. Requests for extensions must be made prior to the due date for submission unless a sound explanation for th delay in requesting the extension is provided.

c. Supporting information (e.g. medical certificate, letter from child s school, work roster) must be provided for a extension request longer than three University business days. d. The Topic Coordinator will consider the request in a timely, fair, transparent and consistent way. e. Any extension granted will specify in writing a new due date for submission of the assessment activity after

which consequences of late submission will apply. f. The new due date will be set taking account of the circumstances justifying the granting of the extension, but cannot extend beyond a date which is impracticable in the circumstances or which is beyond the specified da for the return of feedback on the activity.

Criteria for successful completion of the topic (including, where appropriate, the achievement of a certain minimum level of competence in both the theoretical and practical components of the topic and details of specia requirements concerning particular elements or aspects of the topic such as attendance/participation requirements, group activity) are as follows: ●

For each submission in Assessment 2, you must submit all three peer reviews. A deduction of up to 30% of the total submission grade will apply for not submitting the peer reviews.
