ANSWER: Aristotle's Model has three variables in the communication process: speaker, speech and audience.Lasswell's Model described communication as being focused on the following Ws: Who, says What, in Which channel, to Whom, and with What effect. The Shannon- Weaver's Communication Model was conceptualized for the functioning of radio and television and was later on adopted in the field of communication. Task 1.3.1(Effective Oral Communication) 1.Do you think the five principles of effective oral communication were followed? Which ones were followed? Which ones were not?Why or why not? After watching the speech of President Rodrigo Duterte, I think some principles of effective oral communication were not followed. The principles that were followed is the completeness of messages delivered.President Digong shared a detailed information of how he decided to separate with America and instead coincide with China..But,he was not able to follow the four principles,he is not concise and he added topics that are far out from his main objective. It makes it unclear for the listeners what his objective is.He also stutters and uses Bisaya and Tagalog words that Chinese people and other listeners can't understand. He does not provide specific time that indicates the significant events that he mentioned on his speech. 2.What advice would you give to make the speaker more effective? Write your thoughts on the space below. If I were to give advices to the speaker to make him more effective, here are my suggestions: He should not use foul words or curse while doing a speech because it is informal. He should also avoid using languages that cannot be understood by the listeners. He should enhance his pronunciation skills. His claims were supported by facts and any other essential informations. He gave a detailed information and specific time in which the events occured. But if I were to give an advice, I will suggest that the speech will be shortened. And also, unnecessary words should not be added ,in short be straight to the point and avoid adding extra words.
