Thesis statement: Today, I will inform you about three simple steps a green card holder can take to become a United States Citizen: Being a lawful resident, filing Form N-400 and passing the Naturalization interview. Transition into Main Point 1: Let’s start with being a lawful permanent resident. 5. Main Point 1: Be a lawful permanent resident for at least five years. 6. Main Point 2: File Form N-400, Application for Naturalization and pay the applicable fees. Sub-point and/or Support:

Assemble your required documents and file your application. If you need to take biometrics, USCIS will send you an appointment notice that includes your biometrics appointment date, time, and location. Main Point 3: Pass the Naturalization interview and test. Sub-point and/or Support: Find “Study Materials and Resources” published on the USCIS website to help you prepare for your interview. Attend the Naturalization interview on the date scheduled. The Naturalization interview tests basic knowledge of U.S. history and government. Reading, writing and speaking of basic English are assessed on the test. You must correctly answer 6 questions out of 10 to pass. https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/find-study-materials-and-resources
