D082 Task 1 Template and Tips To access the official Task Instructions and Grading Rubric, please click on the “View Task” links on your main D082 Course of Study page. A. Global Leadership Foundation Emotional Intelligence Test (GEIT) Complete and submit your GEIT results by attaching a PDF or a screenshot of the test results page to your submission. Here is a link to the GEIT Test (also found on the Course Resources page or at the bottom of the Task 1 instructions). Make certain to attach both GEIT test and the assignment before submission. Please do not include your results as a link as the evaluators cannot open file links within your submission.

B. Intrapersonal Improvement Apply either the research of Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer or Daniel Goleman to explain TWO ways that you can improve your intrapersonal areas of opportunity (self-awareness and/or self-management) from your GEIT results. (Unit 2: Module 1). 1. According to the GEIT test I scored lowest in Self-Awareness. Self-awareness is about limits, confidence, self-worth. I am actually surprised I scored the lowest in this category. I need to work on limits. I tend to push them and think that I can accomplish anything, this may affect my feelings and tension levels. The tone of my voice may change toward someone, even when I am not meaning to. Goleman’s theory says we should be more self-aware and mindful of the way we speak to others. The choice of words and how we say them can make all the difference. 2. Self-Management is being able to understand your own feelings and how to handle them. How to manage or show feelings during a stressful situation. It states that when our emotions run high, its crucial to manage our thoughts, instead of directly to negative transform them into a positive reaction. It’s important to stop, take a breath, and think before reacting. I have been working on this and come a long way, but there’s always room for improvement. C. Interpersonal Improvement C. Describe TWO Emotional Intelligence communication techniques that can improve your interpersonal areas of opportunity (social awareness and/or relationship management) from the GEIT results (Unit 2: Modules 1 and 3). Please be sure to explain how these Emotional Intelligence communication techniques will help you to improve your interpersonal areas of Emotional Intelligence. 1. Although I scored rather high in Social awareness, I believe there is always room for improvement. Creating a nonthreatening environment, displaying an open and caring

posture can change a scenario drastically. These task will allow myself to be more empathetic and take an active interest in what the speaker is saying.
