Differences Between Effective Management and Successful Leadership. Who is a Manager? Who is a leader? A manager maintains control; that is, they are in charge of other people, whereas leaders take charge. Leaders usually have people who follow them, where this is different from managers who have people to work for them. Effective management and successful leadership are typically determined by how leaders and managers handle their roles properly. There is a diverse difference between effective management and successful leadership, which is proven by various characteristics. According to Duggan (2021), successful leadership is achieved when a leader sets out the vision while motivating subordinate staff to adopt the idea. After the subordinates accept the plan given to them, then the managers work to ensure that the team has the required skills and expertise to achieve the goal to achieve effective management. Rosa (2018) explained that leadership revolves around inspiring people to follow and understand one's vision. Leaders act as mentors and motivators, and people follow the path they set. On the other hand, effective management mainly involves control: the direction of daily work and establishing rules. When there are market changes, effective managers ensure operations are maintained instead of changing them. At the same time, successful leaders recognize the need for changing business practices, that is, by the promotion of innovative strategies and risk-taking. Duggan (2021) concluded that leaders enable companies to capitalize on opportunities to vote off risks and threats, but managers maintain the consistency for the direction set. Successful leaders establish long-term strategies and set goals for the organization, while effective managers ensure that they are sponsored. Rosa (2018) said that successful leaders make

an effort to approve resource allocation, thus allowing managers to recruit or hire employees. Effective managers start to plan, execute, and monitor the projects involved in achieving the goals. There is a significant difference between effective management and successful leadership since managers are said to be in charge, whereas leaders take charge. Other key differences include that leadership involves inspiration, while management consists of taking control. Leaders and managers should work together in an organization to help it achieve its goals effectively.
