Journal Entry 1 My name is Ethan and something is wrong here I don’t know what it is but I’m scared and it’s scary. Its killing loads of people by the day and we can’t stop it, we can only hope not to contract it. People are calling it the Black Death because you get black spots all over your body before you eventually die. So how did it start? I don’t know but I have an idea, about a month ago a man entered our village asking for a doctor. He looked really sick and was covered in black tumors, he was pale and could barely walk. The doctor rushed him in but almost immediately rushed him out and sent him out of our village. The next day I saw the doctor coughing and had the same black tumors as the other guy. I knew something was up I just didn’t know what. Soon a mass amount of people had what ever this infection was and people usually died within 5 days. People who were infected were locked in their house with a red cross on their door, every night they would send out the poor people or criminals to open the infected homes and collect the dead people to bury them before sunrise. The infection was spreading from person to person and the symptoms were clear to everyone. People said the symptoms were vomiting, coughing and growth of large tumors. While doctors predicted the symptoms of the 5 days: Day 1 - Painful swellings in groin and armpit size of an egg. Day 2 - Vomiting, nausea and a fever. Day 3 – Bleeding under skin all over body. (bruises) Day 4 – The disease attacked the nervous system causing spasms leaving them in terrible pain. Day 5 – Sometimes the tumors burst and a foul smelling black liquid oozed out and when this happened you would usually live but however this most likely would happen leaving you to die a painful death. When this news came out the infected when crazy usually trying bizarre methods to cut the tumors of or make them pop, from knifes to fire some methods I couldn’t believe people actually would try. But people would try anything in hope for survival. Heck I know I would, but I was lucky enough to have not of captured the disease just yet. But even with these remedies the infection was spreading like wild fire and faster than ever more people were getting it by the day....
