Diagnostic tests
Signs and Symptoms Nursing Diagnosis Decreased cardiac output r/t disease process CAD as evid by fatigue
The major blood vessels that supply the heart become damaged or diseased. A buildup of plaque can narrow the arteries, decreasing blood to your heart.
ECG Echocardiogram Exercise Stress test Nuclear stress test Cardiac catherization /angiogram Cardiac CT scan
Chest pain, SOB, heart attack,
Intervention- assess VS, heart sounds via auscultation
Medications Labs Intervention – observe signs of decreasing peripheral tissue perfusion
CBC Metabolic panel Intervention- educate stress management
Goal: - patient to present no signs of peripheral tissue perfusion
Goal: patient to be able to maintain adequate cardiac output
Goal: - patient to demonstrate deep breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques
Nursing Diagnosis
Aspirin Beta blockers Calcium channel blockers Nitroglycerin ACE inhibitors ARBS STATINS – anti-cholesterol
Nursing Diagnosis Increased chest pain r/t disease process CAD, as evid by verbalized tightness in chest
Intervention- place patient in comfortable position and administer oxygen to enhance myocardial oxygen supply
Acute pain r/t decreased myocardial blood flow as evid by verbalized angina pain.
Intervention Place patient on complete bed rest during angina pain
Goal: patient to demonstrate less stress, 010 angina pain while resting.
Goal: - patient to demonstrate less pain on exertion during movement.
