Earth Structure Geography 9 am - 10 am (1 hour) Form 1

2. I choose ASSURE model for my lesson plan because this model gives a general roadmap so that I can design a better lesson plan. This ASSURE model can be my guidelines for my lesson plan that focussing on the overall outcome of accomplishing learning objective. The ASSURE design has a six step which is analyze learners, state objectives, select methods,media and material, utilize method, media and materials, require learner participation and evaluate and revise. This six step in ASSURE model help me as a teacher to utilize technology and media in the classroom and ensure the learning environment is appropriate for student to learn.

3. Lesson plan using ASSURE model

1.0 Analyzing Learner General Characteristics Participants in this class are Form One pupils. This class consist only 25 student to ensure personal attention, adequate understanding and the follow up. Entry Characteriztics The student already have a basic knowledge about the topic. Learning Styles This lesson will use methods that appeal to verbal, individual work and group discussion. 2.0 Objective By the end of the lesson, the learner should be able to: a) Draw and label the layers of earth structure b) State the information about 3 layer of earth which is Crust, Mantle and Core 3.1 Methods, Media and Material Methods The teacher will begin the lesson with a brief introduction about earth structure and showing the students a video about the structure of earth from Youtube. The teachers should be able to answer by the student regarding the topic.

Media and Material Text books, white board, and markers pen in this lesson will be used for interpretation. Laptop and projector in this lesson will be used to shown the video about the topic to the students.

4.0 Utilizing Media and Material Preview the Materials The teacher should have fully covered and do a research about the topic before teaching the students. The teacher should know the earth structure by their layers which is Crust, Mantle and Core and be able to answer the student questions related to the topic. Prepare the Materials The teacher should ensure that the video about earth structure are able to be played before the lesson begin. Make sure there are enough text books for the student to refers through out the lesson. Prepare the Environment. The teachers should check the classroom to make sure the comfortness and it is proper for teaching and learning process. The classroom should be clean, and the sitting arrangement is suitable for the lesson. Prepare the Learner The lesson will start with a brief introduction about earth structure. For an icebreaking session teacher can ask the student about their basic information about earth. Make sure all the student have their textbook with them . 5.0 Require Learner Participation Initial Activities After introductions, icebreaker and overview about earth structure layers by layers, the teacher will ask the student to create a small group discussion of 5 members to allow the students to discuss about the topic among themselves and ask questions related to the topic.

6.0 Evaluate and Revise The lesson will close with a brief summary by the teacher. Question and answer method will be used for evaluation and revision. The question will include : a) What are the 3 layers of earth structure? b) Draw the 3 layer of earth structure and label them.

ASSIGNMENT PART 2 1.0 Definition of the 2 course delivery modes. Face to Face Learning is an instructional method where the course content and learning process and material are taught in person to a group of students that require a live interaction between a learner and an instructor. Online learning is an instructional method that takes place over the internet and often referred as ‘e-learning’ in another terms. By this method, the student can view their course content and academic progress online. Face to Face Learning Student can concentrate more on the lecture session and be able to communicate face to face with lecturers . The time constraints in the class, the teachers not be able to answer all of their student question due to time constraints. Learning Reading, writing, group discussion, and role play Teachers have full controls of the class and be the main source of the topic information. Teachers also act as guide for the student. Student need to attend the class on time and participate actively during the class

Online Learning Student can study comfortably at home or anywhere that they want to. They also can access the learning materials whenever they want. Low nternet connections can be the major problem for the students to access the learning material and joining the online class. Online quiz, group project, and creative online presentation Teacher planning the online material that are creative and allow interactive learning throughout the lesson. Student need to be able to manage time wisely and have ICT skill.

3.0 Select tools for each course delivery mode. Face to Face Learning- ( white board, projector, marker, laptop)

Online Learning -(Internet, applications (webex, zoom,googlemeet), laptop, mobile phones) 4.0 Develop a lesson plan that appropriate for one of the selected course delivery modes. Step 1 (5 minute) DEVELOPMENT

CONTENT Chapter 6: Communist Threat and Declaration of Emergency Historical Thinking Skill Exploring evidence of the communist threat in our country Learning Standard 10.5.2 Explain the threat and communist violence in our country Student Readiness Student already have basic information about the topic Learning Objective Students be able explain the threats and violence of communism in our country Tools 1. Text books 2. Projector 3.Internet 4. Laptop 5. Coggle Cross curricular elements 1.Cooperation 2.Creative and innovative 3. Critical Thinking Learning and Facilitating Activities 1. The teacher shows a 3-minute video related of the topic of the Communist Threat 2. The teacher gives an initial explanation on the topic of learning.

Step 2 (15 Minute) IMPLEMENTATION

3.The teacher discusses the topic of Communist Threats and Terrorism guided by a textbook through a PowerPoint presentation.

Step 3 (20minute)

4.Students are asked to make a mind map of Communist threats and violence using the Coggle app

Step 4 (15 minute)

5.Students are asked to create a group discussion consist of 5 members and discuss about the topic and they are allowed to ask the teacher if they have any questions.

EVALUATION (5 minutes)

Question and answer method will be used for evaluation. The question will include : a) what are the communist actions that threaten the safety of the people? b) what are the communist actions that paralyze the country's economy?
