Nowadays, technology is being advanced, and it is not only helpful to industry, but also helpful to health care system. Telehealth requires to have access to internet, smart phone, computer, and television. When the doctor and patient are not able to meet a same place, telehealth is the only one that use electronics data and telecommunication to give care[ CITATION Und20 \l 1033 ]. Telehealth has advantages such as no charges for transportation, access to experts, less possibility of getting affected by a new disease, on the other hand, there is disadvantages such as ethical issues, malfunctions of equipment, and cost. Telehealth has many advantages for patients that seeking care, but not able to come at the clinic or healthcare center. Telehealth saves the cost of transportation because patients don’t have to spend money on public transport and parking. Patients can visit a doctor via phone or computer[ CITATION Eli17 \l 1033 ]. Telehealth is not only save the money of transportation, but also time, too. While visiting a doctor, patient has to travel long way, and invest time to reach doctor’s center. In addition, telehealth provide access to experts at home via smart phone. Whenever it comes to healthcare, patients have advantage to select a specialist doctor who is at close or far distance and treat them. Patients visit doctor via video conferencing, and the result showed that majority of patients expressed a high degree of satisfaction with numerous feature of the virtual clinic or care center[ CITATION Pat15 \l 1033 ]. Feature of Telehealth, teleradiology allows access to geographically distant doctors for expert advice, support, and assistance[ CITATION Cas18 \l 1033 ]. Another benefit of Telehealth is; patients are having less possibility of getting affected by a new disease. As people know, maximum number of sick individuals will be found at healthcare center. Although patients who are sick try to make genuine effort to prevent other people from affected by his/her disease which is not always possible. Telehealth gave a solution to people to avoid this problem by staying at home and taking the help of the doctor via video call [ CITATION Eli17 \l 1033 ]. All in all, Telehealth is a big advantage for patient who seeking care.

3 Running Head: Telehealth: Advantages & Disadvantages Barriers are existing in Telehealth and include: ethical issues, malfunctions of equipment, and cost. Many ethical issues are found in Telehealth such as countryside family physicians were not aware about telehealth (virtual clinic). Some problem of patient solves via virtual appointment, but for the pain management, patient has to visit telehealth site which might be far from the home (O'Connell, 2015). Next, malfunction of equipment is also a disadvantage for Telehealth. Sometimes, technology can fail, for example, machine at home such as blood pressure detector, heart rate machine, phone, computer, and other machines are not working properly. Sometimes, machine might give false result which can affect patient’s care[ CITATION Jan18 \l 1033 ]. The initial cost is high for implementation of bunch of necessary equipment such as hardware, software, and other communicating devices. This cost is for the first visit of telehealth. For the future visit patient will have all the necessary equipment that need it (Wesson & Kupperschmidt, 2013). In conclusion, Telehealth has advantages and disadvantages for patients. For older adult, this is a helpful tool to get care at home. Disadvantage of telehealth can be remove by improvement in technology and awareness.
