The short story that I like is The Scholarship Jacket by Marta Salinas. The main character that I like is Martha. She portrays many moral values in this story. First and foremost, she is a determine person. She was looking forward very much to own the scholarship jacket, so she maintained her result which is straight A until she was in the eighth grade. Next, she shows grateful characteristic. Although she could not participate in sports at school because it very costly, she never asked her grandfather to afford her a school sports jacket. She is also hardworking girl. It can be described when she managed to get straight A for eight years even though she came from poor family. She never give up on her study. On the other hand, she is a respect person. It is because when she was on the way to take her P.E. shorts, she heard an argument between her teachers. She did not want to interrupt them. Lastly, she is helpful because she joined her grandfather in the row. Without hesitating, she helped him to pulling up the weeds with his hand. In my opinion, I like The Scholarship Jacket because this short story give me positive values to apply in our daily life. I can spread more positive vibes to have a successful life now on....
