Description

1.

What is a self-directed learner? What are the essential aspects of self-directed learning?

Self-directed learner is people who brainstorming, thinking, using intellectual abilities (observing, comparing, analyzing ...) and sometimes even muscles (when using tools) and the qualities of the learners themselves (honesty, objectivity, self-determination, perseverance, patience, passion for science) motive, emotional, human viewpoint, worldview to dominate a certain field, transform that area becomes our property.

That means we will work with ourselves, we will be students and teachers at the same time. We will read, self-study, self-think, we will always be proactive, self-centered. For that reason, when we study by ourselves, we will be able to fully master the process, master the time, time to learn, and the amount of knowledge that we want to receive.

Self-directed learning not only gives us the results and knowledge about the lessons, but selfstudy also helps us to train a lot of achievements around it. Self-directed learning will help you orient and plan positive and effective learning results, it helps us to actively acquire knowledge sources.

2. What are your two biggest strengths as a student? How will these strengths help you become a self-directed learner?

As a student, I think I have two biggest strengths which are high learning spirit and being able to experience new things

The first is the high spirit of learning. This strength can help me to learn from the knowledge and knowledge of my fellow students. This is extremely essential for a self-directed person.

The second is being able to experience new things. Experience helps us to be more mature, learn more from experiences after experiencing something. I think self-learners are people who are always ready to accept new experiences, from which to draw valuable lessons for themselves.

3. What are your two biggest weaknesses as a student? How do these affect your readiness to be a self-directed learner?

I think the two biggest weaknesses of students are their passivity and not finding opportunities for themselves

The first is passivity. Some of the students I feel they are waiting for others to teach them. They do not actively ask things they do not know, do not dare to experience new things, but only diligently focus on things they are too familiar with. I think this will gradually turn into lazy and unable to learn on its own.

The second is not to find opportunities for yourself. Many students only like what is available to them but forget that opportunities are self-found, created by themselves, not brought by others. This takes away the essential skill of self-directed self-directed learning. A person who is always looking for opportunities for himself, there are always good opportunities to be self-taught.

4. Describe at least three strategies to become a more self-directed learner. How will you hold yourself accountable for your growth as a learner?

The methods I use to become a self-directed learner are:

Proactively arrange the time that suits us best, study at any time, where we find it convenient and exciting, without having to worry about crowding in the hot season in the extra-classes, we

can relax. Do not sit in the air-conditioner but study and create the best conditions for ourselves so that we can learn.

Discover our strengths and interests, and take advantage of them to make self-study easy. For example, if I like reading magical stories about witches, I will learn English through reading Harry Potter. Taking advantage of our interests can increase my flexibility and interest in learning.

Find what we are passionate about in the subject, and make it something we enjoy, not just a duty. Don't torture yourself by trying to read a book that we can't understand forever, instead find a book that is more interesting and easier to read that will make us feel more excited and less depressed. in study.

As a learner, through self-directed learning, I feel more mature and independent. I have more opportunities to learn and also more opportunities to feel the joy of learning.
