Expository Essay Topic: Three ways technology can impact communication Essay Title: I. Introduction: (Begin with a hook sentence to capture your audience’s attention, then provide a brief background of the topic and end with your thesis statement.) a. Hook: With the touch of a button, you can instantly have an impact on someone’s life or many lives near and far. b. Additional background information: Technology has advanced and brought with it so many changes over the last 30 years it can be aggravating for some to keep up. Generations young and old can have access to the devices but not all are in a rush to do so.

c. Mapped Thesis statement (review Topic 3 DQ1 for feedback from instructor): Three ways technology impact communication is having effective innovation peer-to-peer communication, along with technological improvements to help older adults, and communication breakthroughs happening in Australia to help fight obesity.

Conclusion: (Paraphrase your thesis statement, summarize main points, and make final remarks.) a. Paraphrase thesis statement: With the ever-changing advancements in technology, the way we communicate with one another is

changing, sometimes daily. Whether it applies to helping spread information during a pandemic, helping an older generation learn new skills to apply, to having parents and children fight obesity, communicating through technology is here to stay and will always have some sort of impact on our lives.

b. Summarize main points: A big presence across social media platforms is helping India keep its population safe and healthy by using technology to spread information amid a pandemic. Teaching senior citizens to not only accept new technology but also have them feel safe while doing it is a big challenge and one that will take some time. While obesity is a worldwide problem, Australia has tried a new program that parents can access via an app that allows them to make healthy choices of food to send with their kids for lunch.
