Introduction Cognate is the word that insinuates that items or persons are in the way related. And the word strategy implies the usage of an educated method or plan.

5 cognate strategies

1. Arrangement: “Arrangement is the organization of visual and verbal elements” (Kostelnick & Roberts, 1998). This also means order. As one who wants to make a presentation, information is required to be organized. This will help for easy flow. As for information that will be written down, it should be orderly written for the reader to understand easily. We need an orderly written essay or written assessment for the reader to be able to assess it without any stress. In my written assessment I make sure it organized to give the reader an easy way to assess my work.

2. Credibility: This is the qualities, capabilities one have and by this, your audience will be assured of your work. That’s to say because of your credibility, many will like to do business with you. Your credibility builds helps to build your relationship with the audience or business partners.

3. Expectations: Expectations are what an outcome of a situation be. The outcome of the investments or a business trip. As a speaker, what are the expectations of your listeners?

4. Reference: Reference involves the source of your research. Most at times, your audience wouldn't expect you to personally gather statistics and publish. But they would expect you to state where you got your information. Just as in our studies, we add a reference list to our assignments.

5. Clarity: This is the state of being clear and making your self clear before your audience. It is imperative to communicate with your audience clearly to avoid miscommunication. If not clear, this might lead the audience astray in their work with you.
