ALEJANDRO PADILLA

El día An Internet user bought the domain of Google's search engine in Argentina forNicolás 2 Kuroña euros legally. Argentine web developer owned the domain for a few minutes until the Californian company recovered it.

The official domain of Google's search engine in Argentina, google.com.ar, was acquired last week by a user, the Argentinean web developer Nicolás Kuroña, who paid 2.40 euros for it and was its legal owner for a few minutes until Google took it back.

On the night of March 21, Kuroña obtained control of the website through legal channels, through the Dirección Nacional del Registro de Dominios de Internet (NIC Argentina), the official body that manages the country's national domains (.ar).

the official Google website in Argentina was purchased by nikolas kuroña for a price of 270 Argentine pesos, equivalent to about 2.40 euros at the current exchange rate, this was reported by the BBC, and the user received an email with the receipt of the purchase, as happens with regular purchases.

Kuroña, 30, stressed that he had no bad intentions, and that after completing the purchase process, when entering the Google search engine page in Argentina his profile was appeared. Minutes later, the Google search engine domain became operational again and was passed into the hands of the U.S. company again, although Kuroña did not receive a refund of the money he had paid to buy it, nor did Google contact him.

It is not clear at the moment why the sale of the Google domain could take place, as it was not due to expire until July, as confirmed to the BBC by both Google, which is investigating the facts, and the Argentinean group specialized in web licenses, Open Data Cordoba

At that time, as the user himself assured in his personal Twitter account, the Google page was not operational because the domain had expired, so it was available for purchase through NIC Argentina....
