Finding Your Purpose Name: Michaela Skeens Course: CWV-101 Date: 10-Oct-21 Instructor: Dr. Jeff Jibben Be sure you respond to all five prompts and complete the reference page in this document before submitting. Consider how what you have learned throughout the course will impact your future. Explain how to find your purpose by answering the following questions. Include citations and references from the topic study materials. 1. Summarize the concept of missio Dei (missional purpose). Your answer in 100-150 words: Missio Dei, means mission of God. We do this through the trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy spirit, God’s mission is to show people his love and to save them. God is a take action God. He will not wait for people to come to him and see is mercy or to do what we created us to do on this earth. God sent his only son to the world through Jesus Christ to share his word and love, Christ was guided by the Holy Spirit to follow God’s mission to save our souls. (Pasley, 2020). The concept of missio Dei is to encourage Christians to continue to share God message and show others the power of his love to others. 2. Summarize Buechner's concept of finding your purpose and explain how this aligns with the way you live out your worldview (missional purpose). Your answer in 100-150 words: The concept from Buechner on finding your purpose is to understand that God is calling on you for a mission on this earth. This mission is something that may bring a great amount of joy and purpose to your life. We all have something special in us, which was given to us from God, this is found in things that may give us purpose in our day to day lives. These things may also bring us a great amount of joy as well. This is you calling and not something to be ignored. 3. Reflect on your beliefs about origins (creational purpose) and describe how those beliefs contribute to your understanding of human purpose. Your answer in 100-150 words:

For me human purpose is something we see all throughout the bible. I know many people have other opinions on religion and beliefs and that is what may lead their purpose. I know that God created everything on the earth and for this reason my purpose is to worship him in all that I do during my lifetime. Everyday I see his power and grace and I know that even in my dark times he is with me. I know that I need to make sure I spread his word and share about is greatness to my children and hope that they also choose to have a Christian worldview. 4. Describe how Jesus's statement of overarching purpose in the commandment to love God and love others as ourselves can be lived in and out of the workplace. Your answer in 100-150 words: When we were told to love thy neighbor as we love God, he was reminding us that we need to spread love and acceptance like Christ did. Even when those people do not agree with our belief we are to still love them and accept them for who they are. God never stopped loving us even after the great fall. He knew that man was going to continue to sin, and our souls were lost, so he sent his son to die so that we may be forgiven and have a forever home in heaven. This is the type of love that we need to be giving to one another. 5. Describe how your future career can be an opportunity to help others flourish, to be purposeful, and to do no harm. Your answer in 100-150 words: As an elementary teacher I hope to be able to reach these children the way Christ reached people. I hope that my presence brings joy and excitement to my future student, I want them to know that I am always there for them and that they always have a friend who cares. We saw how Christ brought joy to others and how he taught them in a way that changed their lives forever. Now I know that I have to be careful not to cross the line when it comes to religion in school, and I will do so. I just want to make sure that these future students of mine know that their teacher is always available and wants them to succeed.
