Caroline Sullivan Professor Toomb CMM 351 16 March 2021 Invitational Speech Self Reflection I think I did a good job with my visual aids and having enough visuals to help support my information and keep the audience engaged. I also think I did a good job with leading the discussion and contributing to the discussion myself after each person shared their thoughts and opinions to the discussion. I also really enjoyed my conclusion and think I did a good job summarizing the discussion, my main points, and adding some closure to the speech. I want to improve next time by practicing my speech more in order to memorize more of my speech and support so that I can keep more eye contact with the audience. I also want to slow down more because I definitely talked faster in real life rather than in practice. In order to slow down, I plan to write things like “breathe” and slow down” on my speaking notes. I also know that next speech I won’t be in a cast so I won’t have to wear my hair in a ponytail. I really enjoyed leading the discussion, I felt like it was a nice way to interact with the audience as a speaker and to feel like you know that they are definitely listening to you. It made me a lot less nervous of a speaker to know that people heard what I was saying and had ideas of their own to contribute to my topic. I felt super comfortable when responding to each person’s dialogue and really enjoyed this speech because of the discussions we were able to have as a class....
