OBE CURRICULUM PLAN

SUBJECT AREA:

Learning Outcome Topic Time Allotment Teaching-Learning Activities Assessment Task Materials/References A. LEARNING AND INNOVATION SKILLS 1. Students will develop a question or problem that can be solved through experimentation. Ways of acquiring knowledge, and solving problems. 1 hour Fish bone(students will identify what are the possible solution to a problem) Quiz(matching type method) Laptop through the use power point presentation 2. The students will know some important properties of solution.

Diversity or materials in environment(solutions) 1 hour Concept mapping(the students will categorize the difference of materials in the environent) Group activity each group consist of five member

Online source of topic, Video presentation 3. The student will learn the properties of substances that distinguish them from mixtures. Substances and mixture 2 hours Class reporting(three students will assign to report the topic) Quiz(identification) the students will identify if subtance or mixture Video presentation 4. The students will know how to classify substances as elements or compound Elements and compound 2 hours Think pair and share (Give each pair of students a bag containing either the mixture or the compound.Ask them to separate the substance on the table.) Quiz(identification) the students will identify if element or compound Video presentation, bag that contains mixture and compound 5. The students will learn the common properties of acidic and basic mixtures Acids and bases 2 hour

The students will be given a pre-test; a few simple questions to test their knowledge of acids and bases and to see their misconceptions.

Group activity(each group consist of 7 members and they will identify if acid or base Students will use the internet to research acids and bases and why red cabbage can be uses as a pH indicator.

B. INFORMATION, MEDIA, AND TECHNOLOGY SKILLS 1. The learners will know and understand the parts and function of the compound microscope Parts and function(microscopy) 1 hour Students receive

Microscope Worksheet

and Microscope Study Guide. Next, students review lab handouts relocate to lab groups to

begin“e”lab.

Quiz

parts

or

test

PowerPoint, Slides

on

and

usage

of

independently and then

microscope.

Water, Lab, Notebooks,

Toothpick, Microscopes, Elodea leaves (purchase

at

pet

store),

Newspapers, Iodine 2. The students will learn the different levels of biological organization Levels of biological organization 2 hours

Draw a pyramid on the board. Explain to students that the smaller levels of biological organization work together to create the larger levels until a complete organism is created. Explain that you are going to be beginning at the bottom of the pyramid to demonstrate this event. Using the list below, ask students to write the examples in their pyramids for each level of biological organization Quiz(identification type the students will identify what level of biological organization that is being ask in the given question. Power point presentation, manila paper, marker, 3. Learners will know difference between animal and plant cell Animal and plant cells 2 hours Show students the PP slide with the microscopic image of both an animal and plant cell. Give them no further information than they are images of cells. Ask the students to list any differences they see between the two images. Powerpoint presentation, model of plant and animal cell 4. The students will understand that organism can only be seen through the use of microscope, many of which consist of only one cell Fungi protist and bacteria 2 hours Discovery Learning- The teacher will let the learners discover the concept of the different types of fungi, protists and bacteria. Quiz(The students will guess the related to the fungi, protists and bacteria.)

Laptop , Visual Aids Flash Cards,  Science Journal, Activity Sheets 5. The learners demonstrate an understanding of reproduction being bote asexual or sexual Heredity: inheritance and variation(asexual and sexual reproduction)

1 hour Tell students that they will be learning about two types of reproduction. These vocabulary words are covered in the video – asexual reproduction, sexual reproduction, gamete, mitosis, and meiosis. Quiz (Ask students how the offspring of the two types of reproduction differ and Ask why asexual reproduction only produces clones of the parent.) Power point presention, video presentation about the asexual and sexual reproduction. C. LIFE AND CAREER SKILLS 1. At end of the lesson student will understand organism interacting with each other and with their environment to survive Ecosystems 1 hour The teacher will report about what are sub topics under the ecosystems. Group activity(observation type the teacher will show a picture and they will observe what is all about the picture) Power point presention, model or pictures of ecosystems 2. After the lesson the learners will learn that waves as a carriers of energy Waves 1 hour Video presentation and after they watch the video ask student what are their obsevations. Individual activity(let the learners do a simulation. Let them make a paper boat, ask them to fill in in a basin with 3 inches deed and instruct them on how to make paper boat move floating in a calm water. Power point, videos, learners material. 3. Learners will understand the characteristics of sound Sound 1 hour

Begin the lesson by playing a song for your students (bonus points if it's a popular song that they recognize!). Ask them how they can hear the song. Quiz(students will identify what is being ask in the given question) Power point presentation, videos, picture, handkerchief, cotton balls 4. At the end of the lesson students will learn about the characteristics of light Light 1 hour The learners will watch a video about light and after they watch they will write what are their observation. Quiz(multiple choice type the students will choose whar is the correct answer of the given question) Laptop, projector, power point presentation 5. At the end of the topic students will learn about charges and the differenr charging processes Electricity 1 hour The teacher will report through the use of power point presentation and videos about how electricity works. Quiz(identification and multiple choice type) Power point presentation, laptop, videos

Instruction: Make a sample of an OBE Curriculum Plan by filling out the given table above. The Curriculum plan is subdivided into three major categories (core skills). In choosing the verb of the learning outcomes, please refer to my previous video discussion and the pdf which was uploaded on the Edmodo.

REMEMBER THAT LEARNING OUTCOMES ARE MEASURABLE AND SPECIFIC!!! MEANING, THIS ARE THE COMPETENCIES THAT YOU WANT YOUR STUDENTS TO GET/LEARN AFTER YOUR SESSION OR DISCUSSION!

Learning Outcomes – learning objectives (learning objectives can be gotten on learning manual, teaching guide, or curriculum guide, however, in this activity, I’d like you to make your own learning outcomes) Topic – make sure that the topic should not be repetitive. Time allotment – how much time do you need to teach it? Teaching-learning activities – this refers to the major teaching and learning activities to be executed in the class. Make sure that the teaching and learning activities should be appropriate to the chosen topics. (Example: class reporting) Assessment task – assessment activities conducted in the class. (Quiz, essay, etc. but please don’t put these kinds of assessment. Think creatively on how to assess the performance of your students) Materials/references - materials used in the topic....
