Part II 1. Watch closely two persons communicating with each other. Note the various signs and symbols used for interaction. Analyze how their roles as sender and receiver interchange while interacting. Examine if there is any noise or barrier existing in their communication. If yes, observe the effect of the noise on the communication process. Chose another situation where noise/barrier is affecting communication. Analyze the causes leading to noise/barriers and the steps that can be taken to remove them. As I observe my mother talking with her boyfriend. Let’s assume that my mother is the sender and her boyfriend is the receiver. There are disturbances while they are talking. The receiver is having a hard time decoding the words of the sender because of the noise of the electric fan. Making my mother hard to understand and it results to repetition of words and misunderstanding. Another disturbances is the noises coming from the kids playing outside. With their loud boice it

can cause distraction on their conversation. The solution they can do is to go to a more quite place or turn off the fan. She can alos use an earphone so that it can help reduce the noise from the background.

2. Plan an effective communication strategy to communicate your views on any topic to a group of 20 adults. One of the things I can do to communicate my views on any topic to a group of 20 adults is through meetings. I can host a meeting where we are seated in circle form and i’m on the middle. With that they can hear my view easily. My voice will be more audible since we’re in circle but my plan b if i want to exert dominance is to stand in front of them while they are seated in an organize way in a distance where they can hear me enough.

Part III On your list, what are the common barriers that you experience on a day-to-day basis and the strategies that you can use to fix it? We always experience barriers everyday especially now that the mode of learning is through online. The most prominent barrier during my online class that disturb my communication is technical barrier. Low internet bandwidth can affect my communication with my teacher. When i’m talking while the signal of the internet is slow, i can appear as robotic on the receiver. I can fix it if i go closer to the router which will gave me a hard time or pay for a higher internet fee lan but that will be expensive....
