Scenario I moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas with optimism that this would be a new beginning for the family and myself as a career. However, I was let go from the job that we moved for me to start. I identified my emotions, which was anger and anxiety. After being let go from the job that we had moved five hours away for I had to practice stress management as I was stressed over finances. After feeling the stress, I decided to go look for another job as my children were thriving where we currently at. I practiced goal setting and resilience to pursue another job. After starting my new job, I had to show my coworkers that I was someone that could be trusted and building a rapport with my colleagues. I practiced relationship building when I started my new job. I have gotten to show them how I work, and we have a great rapport, where we help when needed and ability to do so during our shift. I am all about teamwork and collaboration. I have been told by another nurse that did not work with me very often, that I was a great leader and took charge of a situation where someone needed to go to the hospital. Through my short time at the new job site there have been many changes with what our responsibilities are with charting. I have showed adaptability in being able to adjust to the change. I had to adjust my time and how I was to complete all the necessary job task as well as take care of the residents and ensure CNAs were doing ok. I showed organizing skills to ensure I was able to complete everything in my shift. There are a lot of different people that I work with, thus cultural awareness and diversity is practiced. I work with several different races and several colleagues are from the LBQT community. No one is treated different at the facility and no issues have occurred with anyone being disrespect or not practicing cultural awareness. There is a genuine appreciation for diversity at the facility.
