Topic 6: Discussion Question 1: What happens if you do not pass a class? What are your financial responsibilities when you drop a class or fail a class? What do you have as a backup plan?...
Hello Jesse,
If a student does not pass a class, they may be responsible for paying back any aid they have received, and they will have to retake the class if it is a mandatory class. The student will also have all financial responsibility for the cost of retaking the class. A couple of things can happen when it comes to dropping a course; it depends on when the course is dropped, and how long the course is. If the class is dropped before the deadline, the student will receive a "W" for the class. If the student waits until after the deadline, they will receive a zero for the rest of the class. GCU will do refunds based on the date the class was dropped. The refund range can be from 0% 100%. Online students' course fees are nonrefundable after the class starts. As for a backup plan, it is out of the question for me to fail a course. I can not afford to pay to retake a class. If I notice I am struggling with a particular course my plan is to speak with the Instructor, utilize the library resources of tutoring, group study sessions, and speak with my Student Service Counselor....
